Vocational Expert - Hawaii

Vocational Evaluation & Expert Testimony

Vocational Evaluation Report

As a vocational expert I produce vocational evaluation reports to be used in litigation. I have worked with major law firms and well-known attorneys in Hawaii to prepare reports to be used at trial. These reports have been used in personal injury, medical malpractice, and discrimination cases.

Vocational evaluation reports may include the following:

  • a review of pertinent vocational and medical records,

  • an interview of the claimant,

  • vocational testing of the claimant,

  • a job analysis (site visit sometimes required),

  • an evaluation of the claimant’s earnings capacity, and

  • opinions about appropriate work a claimant can reasonably perform given the impact of their injury.

    Expert Witness Testimony

  • Once the expert reports have been submitted, if the case does not settle it proceeds to trial. At this point the expert witness is deposed, questioned about their report and their opinions about the case.

  • If the case moves to trial, the expert testifies at trial about their report and opinions.

Expertise Since 1995

Following graduation from University of Hawaii’s Rehabilitation Counseling graduate program in 1995 I have worked throughout the State of Hawaii as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. I helped injured workers in the State Workers’ Compensation system return to work. I was an active volunteer advocating for people with brain injuries and I began doing forensic evaluations

When I retired from active counseling in 2022, I continued to work as a vocational expert.
